The fifth Vilnius Russia Forum will be held on 24-25 May. The traditional event brings together more than 100 politicians, civil society representatives, human rights defenders, academicians, journalists from Russia, Lithuania, and other Western countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania allocated €20 000 in humanitarian aid for Palestinian refugees. The contribution will be transferred to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

The Market and Opinion Research Centre ‘Vilmorus Ltd.’ conducted a public opinion poll on foreign policy commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, which shows that Lithuanians consider foreign policy and diplomacy as important factors to ensure security of the country and its inhabitants. In addition, the residents of Lithuania basically approve the foreign policy of the authorities and advocate closer cooperation with other Baltic states and Poland, while they feel that Russia and Belarus are the greatest threats.
On 3 December in Frankfurt am Main, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Darius Skusevičius congratulated Jonas Mekas, who was awarded the B3 BEN Biennale award for his lifetime contribution to cinema and video art.
“I would like to sincerely thank the DFDS Seaways shipping company, officials and diplomats of Ukraine, Turkey, Denmark, Lithuania, Morocco and Algeria for their endless effort, dedication and skill that have led to the voluntary repatriation of all 12 illegal immigrants on board the Kaunas Seaways ferry sailing under the flag of Lithuania in the Black Sea,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius. The remainder of the immigrants abandoned the ship on 2 November and returned to their countries of origin through Odessa and Turkish airports.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius is paying a working visit to Accra, the capital city of Ghana. Today, Linkevičius met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ghana Shirley Ayorkor Botchway and discussed opportunities for bilateral development, cooperation in multilateral formats, security and development challenges in the region. Linkevičius also met with the President of Ghana Nana Akufo Addo, the First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Joseph Osei Owusu, and the Minister of Communications Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.
On 18 September, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Lithuania Alexander Udaltsov was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and was handed a diplomatic note over a violation of the Lithuanian airspace.
