69th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe happening in Copenhagen

Health Ministers from the 53 Member States of the World Health Organization (WHO) European region, including Lithuania’s Minister of Health Aurelijus Veryga, have gathered in Copenhagen for the 69th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe (16–19 September 2019). Ministers are reviewing 10 years of public health progress, addressing remaining and new challenges, such as smoking, alcohol, overweight and obesity, also under-vaccination, which are still hindering progress in some countries. The ministers will also elect a new Regional Director for the European region. Over 500 representatives are taking part in the annual meeting.
