Commemoration of Lithuania's accession to NATO

Today, on March 29, we commemorate the 18th anniversary of Lithuania's membership in NATO. We have been part of the strongest defense Alliance in the world for 18 years. Today the relevance of the Alliance is more visible than ever. We are NATO and we are strong together.

Denmark has been the first NATO country to declare its unequivocal support for Lithuania's membership in NATO since. On 11 March 1994 Lithuania signed a military cooperation agreement with Denmark. It was the first such agreement with a NATO country.
