Condolences to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark

ON BEHALF OF THE LITHUANIAN PEOPLE, President Dalia Grybauskaite of Lithuania extended her sincere condolences to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark today on the passing of her husband HRH Prince Henrik.

Lithuania warmly remembers the visit of HM the Queen and HRH the Prince to Lithuania in 1992, and highly appreciates the personal support extended by the Danish Royal Family to Lithuania during the re-establishment of independence. In this hour of sadness, the President wishes Her Majesty, the Royal Family and the citizens of Denmark strength and fortitude.

The Embassy of Lithuania is flying its national and EU flags at half-mast as an expression of solidarity with the people of Denmark.
