Discussion in Copenhagen with Belarusian opposition figure V.Tsepkalo

Politiken and the Danish Foreign Policy Society organized a discussion with Belarusian opposition figure V. Tsepkalo, during which Lithuania's Ambassador Ginte Damusis was invited to comment on events in Belarus and the EU response. She said that the EU has an important role to play in supporting Belarusians who are seeking to determine their country's future by democratic means. We have to provide a clear, consolidated European response, which supports the Belarusian people, provides concrete assistance to Belarusian civil society and imposes sanctions against Belarusian officials, who are responsible for brutal attacks against peaceful protesters and fraudulent elections, said the Ambassador.
