Europe Day celebration in Reykjavik
The Lithuanian Embassy in Denmark and to Iceland participated in a 2018 Europe Day event in Reykjavik on May 4, organized by the EU Delegation to mark the entry into force of the EU-Iceland agricultural trade liberalization agreement.
Lithuania and 11 other EU member states presented their food products at a fair attended by hundreds at the University of Iceland. Lithuania's stand was swamped with visitors, who were particularly interested in Lithuanian cheese. A local Lithuanian group “Gija” presented a cultural musical program. Many thanks to the Lithuanian food producers who provided their products for the event – Džiugas (cheese), Žemaitijos pienas (dairy products), Javinė (biscuits, crackers, cookies), TUTU (popsicles), LABU (dried fruit & veggie snacks), Lino Šliauterio ūkis (ecological buckthorn berries and byproducts).
