Flag-flying day in Denmark
Fallen soldiers were honoured today at Kastellet, where the Crown Prince and Princess laid a wreath at the Monument for Denmark’s international efforts after 1948. This was done on the occasion of Flag-flying day in honour of Denmark’s soldiers and personnel deployed abroad in international missions. The event, which has been held since 2009, ended with an overfly of F-16 jets. Lithuania was represented by the Ambassador and Defense Attaché. Lithuanian and Danish military have strong defense cooperation, often deploy together to international missions. The Danish Armed Forces have an active engagement in the Baltics, participate consistently in the NATO Baltic air policing mission based in Lithuania.
