Lithuanian Embassy in Denmark commemorated Independence Day
On February 19, 2015 Lithuanian Embassy in Denmark hosted a celebration to mark the 25th anniversary of the Restoration of Lithuanian Independence. Young talented Lithuanian accordion performer Martynas Levickis created an unforgettable atmosphere.
Ambassador of Lithuania, Vytautas Pinkus, highlighted Lithuania’s historic achievements during the period of 25 years and praised the close Lithuanian – Danish relations since early days of Independence. Ambassador emphasized the solidarity between the two countries in the face of new security challenges and reaffirmed that we will work together to fight all forms of terrorism and other threats.
Representatives of Denmark who supported decisive steps of Lithuania since the beginning of Independence, members of the Lithuanian community in Denmark, Danish politicians, foreign diplomats, representatives from business and academia joined in to commemorate this special occasion.
Martynas Levickis prepared its festive programme performing pieces by B.J.S.Bach, A.Vivaldi, Arne Nordheim and other composers. The audience in particular was charmed by his own composition of the Lithuanian folk tune.
