Marking the 30th anniversary of the Baltic Way in Copenhagen
A few hundred people, mainly Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian students, gathered in Litauens Plads in Copenhagen to mark the 30th anniversary of the Baltic Way. Afterwards, the ambassadors of Lithuania and Latvia, and representatives of the Baltic communities, shared their impressions about this iconic event, which brought the attention of the world to the Baltic issue. On 23 August 1989, over two million people formed a human chain for freedom across the three Baltic states. The spirit and legacy of the Baltic Way lives on!
