Millennium celebration in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Lithuania includes 6 concerts of the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and worldwide famous violinist Julian Rachlin in November 4-11, 2009
MILLENIUM CELEBRATION IN DENMARK, NORWAY, SWEDEN AND LITHUANIA
To commemorate the outstanding event – the Millennium of the Name of Lithuania, perhaps, the most important event in Lithuania in the year 2009 (also referring to the fact that Vilnius became the European Capital of Culture the same year, which in itself is an important European event) – it is planned to organize several concerts in Denmark of the best chamber orchestra in Lithuania – the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra - together with one of the most outstanding soloists – worldwide famous violinist Julian Rachlin (born in Lithuania, living in Austria): on 4th of November 2009 in Copenhagen and on 5th of November 2009 in Aarhus.
The concerts in Denmark is a part of the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra’s tour dedicated to the Millennium of the Name of Lithuania; the tour includes 6 concerts in three Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Norway and Sweden) and Lithuania is planned on 4-11th of November 2009. The first concert (opening concert) of this project will take place on the 4th of November 2009 in Copenhagen and the entire tour shall end on 11th of November 2009 in Vilnius with a solemn concert under the framework of the international festival „Viva Musica Via Baltica“ – a musical program of the “Vilnius - European Capital of Culture”.
