THE DAY LITHUANIA STARTED ITS PRESIDENCY OF THE COUNCIL OF THE EU WAS MARKED BY A CONCERT IN COPENHAGEN IN THE CONCERT HALL OF TIVOLI

Large number of Danish politicians, representatives of business, art and culture communities, members of the Lithuanian societies in Denmark, diplomats who reside in Copenhagen and many more attended the event.
Some of internationally acknowledged Lithuania‘s musicians - pianist Lukas Geniušas and Čiurlionis Quartet - performed music written by Lithuania's one of the most known composer Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis and worldwide very well known composers Frederic Chopin and Robert Schumann.
Lithuanian Ambassador in Denmark Vytautas Pinkus started the concert by welcoming the guests. In his speech he stressed the fact that today Lithuania is taking the helm of the European Union for the first time as it assumes the rotating six-month Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
