Visit to Copenhagen by Lithuanian Energy Viceminister Lina Sabaitiene

During political consultations with Denmark about the decommissioning of Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, Lithuanian Energy Viceminister Lina Sabaitiene met with senior officials in Copenhagen.

Continued EU financing for this unprecedented decommissioning project was discussed with the Prime Minister’s Office, Parliament, Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Finance. Lithuania agreed to shut down the two 1500 MW RBMK reactors inherited from the former Soviet Union as part of its EU accession agreement.
